Rugby Club COVID-19 Safety Guidelines: Ensuring a Safe Return to Play

At Stillorgan-Rathfarnham RFC, the health and safety of our players, staff, and supporters remain our top priority. We have implemented strict COVID-19 safety guidelines in line with HSE, IRFU, and government health regulations to ensure a safe return to rugby.

COVID-19 Safety Guidelines

1. Compliance with Government & IRFU COVID-19 Guidelines

Our club strictly follows the latest public health guidelines to minimise risks associated with COVID-19.

2. COVID-19 Officer & Safety Management

• Our designated COVID-19 Officer, James Petrie, oversees all safety protocols.
• Players, coaches, and visitors must adhere to club-specific COVID-19 policies.

3. Pre-Training & Match Health Checks

• Players and staff must complete a COVID-19 self-assessment before attending any club activities.
• If experiencing symptoms, individuals must stay home and follow public health advice.

4. Sanitization & Hygiene Protocols

• Hand sanitizing stations are available throughout club facilities.
• Regular cleaning and sanitization of equipment and common areas.

5. Social Distancing & Spectator Safety

• Non-contact areas such as dressing rooms and common spaces have social distancing rules in place.
• Spectators are encouraged to follow government-recommended distancing measures.

6. Return-to-Play Protocols

• Players recovering from COVID-19 must follow the return-to-play policy before resuming training.
• Clearance from a medical professional may be required before returning to full contact play.
